In a statement, the company on Wednesday announced new plans, dubbed as My Super Surf Plan, that aim to “fuel the smart phone revolution” in the country.
“Globe My Super Surf Plan is designed for tech-savvy subscribers who want to make the most out of their devices. They are driven by the need to be always online wherever they are, minus the fear of hidden and high charges, or the constant pursuit for Wi-Fi spots just to get connected,” said Martha Sazon, head of Globe Postpaid.
“With My Super Surf Plan, Globe subscribers can get the smart phone of their dreams for free or at an exclusive discount, and then boost it with our customizable and affordable data plans, which will allow them to enjoy mobile Internet, their way,” she said.
For as low as P999 a month, subscribers will be able to surf or send as many e-mails as they want without worrying about “bill shock” or unexplained charges on their accounts.
Any calls made or text messages sent by subscribers would then be charged on top of their bills. Older postpaid plans prioritize text messaging and call services, with Internet plans charged on top of phone bills.
Subscribers on My Super Surf Plan 1,799 and P2,499 are also entitled to enjoy consumable amounts worth P800 and P1,500, respectively, which can be used to send text messages and make calls to Globe, TM and other networks, where standard rates apply.
Globe said it maintained its leadership in the mobile postpaid segment with double-digit growth numbers in revenues and subscriber base as of end-March.
Globe Postpaid achieved a new record high of more than 120,000 new subscribers in the first quarter, a 52-percent increase from last year, bringing total subscriber base to 1.15 million. The total number was up 30 percent year on year and 8 percent quarter on quarter. Postpaid revenues stood at P3.6 billion, 10 percent higher than last year.
