Orange launches new assault on the broadband market
Orange today launched a new bid to grab a larger share of the UK broadband market by offering customers what it claims is the UK’s lowest unlimited broadband price point across its direct retail channels.
The new home broadband price plans will enable Orange customers to get a 12 month plan for just £5 per month, with no connection fee, unlimited broadband usage, inclusive off-peak calls and line rental for just £12.75.
The operator claims that Orange customers using the new price plan could potentially save up to £170 per year compared to customers on similar packages from BT.
The first price plan on offer is the ‘Broadband and Off Peak Calls’ package which offers customers that sign up to 20MB download speeds, unlimited evening and weekend calls to landlines, and unlimited broadband usage on a 12 month plan from just £5 per month.
The ‘Broadband and Anytime calls’ price plan offers Orange mobile customers up to 20MB download speeds, unlimited broadband usage and inclusive anytime landline calls starting at just £10 per month.
Orange customers who already have a landline with another provider can benefit on the final package, ‘Simple Broadband’, which offers 20MB download speeds and unlimited wireless broadband usage from £12.75 per month.
All plans come complete with McAfee Family Protection, a fast wireless ‘n-series’ router, and access to a great range of Orange brand benefits, including Orange Wednesdays and Orange Film to Go.
Everything Everywhere home director of marketing & propositions Sylvain Thevenot said: ‘Although financially times are tough, we believe that everyone should have access to the best value deals in the market, irrespective of where they live. That’s why despite other providers raising the price of their overall packages, we’re actually offering the best priced plans we can to our customers right across the nation.’
Meanwhile, the operator also announced that it is also reducing the prices on its price plans for those in rural areas by 15%.
